Our Approaches

AYAN Kenya adopts a holistic approach, advocating for the promotion and protection of health rights while still maintaining a focus on youth, women, girls and SGM.

Intersectionality Approach:
AYAN Kenya works on various SRHR and SGM issues wholesomely to bring out more impact than having a single issue.

Feminism Approach:
AYAN amplifies the voices and empowerment of adolescents, young women and SGM persons in all their diversity and others who face discrimination or marginalization.

Evidence Based Approach:
AYAN Kenya work is based on a combination of using critical thinking and the best available evidence from our community conversations and live realities to program.

Human Rights Approach:
AYAN Kenya interventions commit that all forms of discrimination in the realization of rights must be prohibited, prevented and eliminated through duty holders and duty bearers.
